Dr Chris Chisholm

Dr Chris, a dedicated and experienced dentist, has been transforming smiles for almost 20 years. His journey in dentistry began at the University of Bristol, where he earned his first degree in dentistry. Driven by a passion for excellence, he pursued membership exams at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, followed by a Master's Degree in Implant Dentistry at Warwick University.
Implant dentistry is Dr Chris's true calling. He has honed his skills in this field, making it the cornerstone of his practice. His expertise extends from single-unit implants, full-arch rehabilitation, soft tissue and bone grafting, and complex endodontic microsurgery. Dr Chris's commitment to continuous learning has taken him around the globe, studying advanced implant techniques to provide the best care for his patients.
Recently, Dr Chris has completed a teaching degree, allowing him to mentor aspiring dentists extensively in implant dentistry. His dedication to education and mentorship reflects his belief in sharing knowledge and fostering growth within the dental community.
Dr Chris shares a busy family life with his wife, Dr Ashley, and their daughter, Margot. Together, they live locally and are proud to be part of the community they serve. Outside of dentistry, Dr Chris has a passion for cooking and travelling, always eager to explore new cuisines and cultures. He is also working on his golf skills, enjoying the challenge and relaxation the sport offers.
With a warm and approachable demeanour, Dr Chris ensures every patient feels comfortable and cared for. His blend of expertise, compassion, and dedication makes him a trusted and respected figure in the field of implant dentistry. Dr Ashley Chisholm

Dr Ashley is a passionate and highly experienced dentist whose approach is as thoughtful as it is refined. Originally from Northern Ireland, she graduated from Newcastle University before completing her membership exams for the Royal College of Surgeons. She later earned a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Edinburgh — balancing her studies with a full-time clinical role and the joys of new motherhood.
With a special focus on Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Dr Ashley offers a full spectrum of treatments, from composite bonding and Invisalign to full-mouth rehabilitation. Her passion for Aesthetic dentistry is evident in her work, where she combines artistry with advanced techniques to achieve stunning results. She travels widely to learn from leading voices in the industry, constantly evolving her skills to deliver dentistry that is both progressive and patient-centred.
Her foundation in restorative care gives her a comprehensive view of oral health, allowing her to support patients through every stage of life with precision and empathy. Known for her meticulous detail and calm presence, Dr Ashley builds lasting relationships with her patients ensuring they always feel welcome, valued and comfortable.
At home, she shares life with her husband, Dr Chris, and their daughter Margot. She finds inspiration in cooking, travelling, and interiors — interests that reflect the warmth and creativity seen throughout the practice.
Dr Ashley’s calm, approachable nature has made her a favourite among patients. She takes time to understand her patients’ goals and concerns, building trust through empathy, expertise, and clear communication. Her commitment to care goes beyond the dental chair — ensuring every visit feels personal, relaxed, and thoughtfully tailored to you.
Dr Katie McDonald-Meyer

Dr Katie is a compassionate and highly skilled dentist with enhanced skills in Paediatric Dentistry. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatric Dentistry with Distinction from UCL Eastman and is currently completing a part-time distance MSc in Paediatric Dentistry at the Eastman. Her advanced training, alongside extensive clinical experience, allows her to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based dental care tailored to the individual needs of children, adolescents and young people.
After graduating from the University of Leeds, Dr Katie worked in London before returning to Scotland, where she completed her membership examinations with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and gained valuable experience across busy practice, community and hospital-based dental services. During this time, she developed particular strengths in behaviour management, prevention-focused care and inhalation sedation.
Dr Katie is especially experienced in supporting anxious and phobic children and young people, as well as those with additional support needs, neurodiverse presentations and medical complexities. Her calm, empathetic approach helps children feel safe and understood, while providing parents and carers with reassurance and clarity at every stage of care.
Known for her warm and approachable communication style, Dr Katie places great emphasis on building trust and rapport - not only with her patients but also with their families and carers. She is passionate about creating positive early dental experiences, encouraging long-term attendance and supporting the development of a trusted dental home where children and young people feel confident and cared for as they grow.
Dr Katie’s approach to dentistry is grounded in prevention, education and partnership. She believes that clear communication, gentle techniques and individualised care are central to achieving the best outcomes and she takes pride in guiding her patients and their families and carers through each stage of their dental journey with confidence and support.
Based in Edinburgh, Dr Katie grew up and spent time living abroad before settling in the city she now calls home. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys exploring Edinburgh’s food scene and discovering great local spots when travelling. She balances a busy professional life with Pilates, yoga and regular gym training and is currently working on her golf swing. As well as playing a range of sports, Dr Katie also enjoys watching live sport, particularly tennis and rugby, and spending quality time with friends and family - especially her four-month-old niece, who has quickly become a firm favourite.
With her blend of advanced training, broad clinical experience and genuine compassion, Dr Katie is committed to providing high-quality paediatric dental care in a calm, supportive and positive environment at Chapter One.
